# Changelog ## 1.0.0 — 2026-10-19 First release. - `synonym.create(name, target)` and `synonym.drop(name [, if_exists [, cascade]])`, the equivalents of SQL Server's `CREATE SYNONYM` and `DROP SYNONYM`. - `synonym.list`, the equivalent of `sys.synonyms`, with the status of each synonym. - Synonyms for tables, views, materialized views, partitioned tables and foreign tables, usable for SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE and `INSERT ... ON CONFLICT`. - Kept in sync automatically with `ADD`, `RENAME`, `ALTER TYPE` and `DROP COLUMN`, renamed and moved targets, and `DROP TABLE` without `CASCADE`. - Late binding: a synonym can be created before its target exists. - Permissions always come from the target (`security_invoker` views); creating a synonym needs `CREATE` on its schema and `USAGE` on the target's schema. - Supports PostgreSQL 15, 16, 17 and 18. No `shared_preload_libraries` needed.
